The LMQ Level 4 Advanced National Certificate and Level 5 Advanced National Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management together provide a coherent, career-focused management education for one of the world's largest and most opportunity-rich industries. The programme is deliberately hospitality-led: while learners gain a sound understanding of the tourism system that generates hospitality demand, the centre of gravity throughout is the management of hospitality businesses — hotels, restaurants, food and beverage operations, resorts, events and related services — because this is where the majority of graduate employment, supervision and management opportunity lies.
The programme has been redesigned around four substantial 30-credit units at each level, replacing the previous structure of eight 15-credit units. This design, benchmarked against current practice at ten UK universities, allows each unit to be studied in genuine depth over 300 notional learning hours, integrates related knowledge that fragmented units previously separated, reduces assessment burden in favour of richer, more authentic project-based assessment, and signals to learners, universities and employers that every unit represents a serious, worthwhile body of professional capability.
LMQ Level 3 International Foundation in Biology and Chemistry
LMQ Level 3 International Foundation in Computer Science
LMQ Level 3 International Foundation in Engineering and Science
This section is common to all six pathways.
Every student is required to complete four core modules: English for Academic Purposes, Mathematics, Information Technology, and Introduction to Research.
LMQ Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership qualifications are designed to provide focused and specialist courses, linked to professional body requirements and National Occupational Standards where appropriate, with a clear work- related emphasis.
There is a strong emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding in the sector. They are particularly suitable for more mature learners who wish to follow a programme of study that is directly related to their work experience or to an aspect of employment that they wish to move into in due course.
On successful completion of these qualifications, national recognition by employers enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue their study in the vocational area.
